About KDU Penang University College
The Batu Kawan campus brings for the first time an Australian higher education experience to Mainland Penang. The 3 faculties being the Centre for Pre-University Studies, School of Engineering, Computing & Built Environment, and the School of Business. UOW Malaysia KDU is a recognized full-spectrum tertiary education provider, offering programs from foundation through to research doctorate degrees.
Students can commence their foundation or diploma studies and progress through to degree studies at Batu Kawan campus, or any of the other global UOW campuses located in Australia, Dubai, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Given a focus upon producing industry ready graduates, there is a prominence of industry 4.0 embedded in the curriculum at this campus to ensure students are future-ready.
A team of UOW Malaysia KDU researchers, based in Penang, are actively researching the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet-of-things (IOT), with both industrial and home applications. This expertise is translated into the classroom through the offering of a number of industry 4.0 courses offered in partnership with IBM. The campus is located next to IKEA, the Design Village shopping precinct, and adjacent to the Batu Kawan Industrial Park. This ensures there is optimal collaboration with employers to provide students with opportunities to undertake internships and participate in professional activities.
